The flag of the Torres Strait Islanders

I would like to pay my respects to the Wurrundjeri Woi-wurrung of the Kulin Nation; the traditional owners of the land on which Yarra Council stands and where we are all lucky to live, rest and work upon today. I pay my respects to Wurrundjeri elders past and present.   

I acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded and I  recognise people's continuing connection to the land, water and sky - always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

The progressive pride flag

I pay homage to the brave, out, loud and proud who came before us and who continue to fight with us to secure the rights and freedoms for all LGBTIQ+ people within our community. Love wins.
